With roots in more than a century of woodworking and millwork craftsmanship, SafeWood combines architectural design, engineering, and ballistic protection to create products that are secure, functional, and beautifully integrated.
WHERE SAFEWOOD BEGAN
SafeWood was born from a simple problem: conventional security systems could protect a building while fundamentally changing the way it looked and felt.
After seeing the vulnerabilities of traditional glass storefront systems, SafeWood's founder set out to create a different approach—one that combined custom millwork with ballistic protection. In 2018, the resulting bullet-resistant wood storefront received 13 patents.
That idea became the foundation for SafeWood Designs.
Protection, Built Into the Design
Today, SafeWood designs and manufactures ballistic doors, windows, wall panels, furniture, shields, storefronts, and other protective solutions. Each can be developed around the architecture, function, and security requirements of the space.
Our experience allows us to match existing millwork, wood species, finishes, profiles, and architectural details—even in historic buildings—so protection can become part of the design rather than something added afterward.
