During normal use, the classroom remains open and functional. When engaged, automatic locking systems secure the door while SafeShutters™ cover glazing and ballistic walls and glass infills create additional barriers. By reducing lines of sight through vulnerable openings, the system decreases the exposed area, or “fatal funnel,” and expands the protected zone while maintaining two-way communication.
